Snow Day 2025

Yes you read the title right. Despite living in Texas and how mild our last couple of winters have been we ended up with snow. It seems we had a bit of a polar vortex hit the US and along with it came harsh temperatures, sleet, and snow. From what I heard we had record breaking temperatures and snow here. I'd believe it, Wednesday morning it got down to nine degrees at one point ! I had never seen so much snow here in my life, around four to five inches.

To give proof and show I'm not a liar here's some pictures I took Tuesday morning during some of the heaviest snow fall.

Here's a view from my front porch.

Mom's car covered in snow.

Back of the house.
Part of what used to be a garden at my grandmothers house.

Front of the house from across the road.

Old wood holding shed, side of the house.

Woods by the house.

Side of the front yard.

Other side of the house.

Former pen for my old dog Daisy.

I made a snow angel.

Also tried to make a snow man, looked more a like a snow mound than anything.
In reality I didn't even make it that far...

Thanks to all of it I didn't have to work for three whole days, a real blessing from The Lord right there ! Due to the rising and falling of temperatures of the next few days after the snow and icy slush from it didn't really fully melt until Saturday.

It was overall a really neat experience even if it was insanely cold.

Christmas 2024

Well Christmas this year was much like last year low key. Nothing too crazy but not bad for me personally.

Here's our Christmas tree we had decorated sitting on our coffee table in the living room. Because I'm a nerd I had to put that Pac-Man and NES controller ornaments on there lol.

I got my mom a few presents. A big Hershey chocolate bar, a new watch, and that old movie Mask on DVD.

I got six NES games from mom. Apparently someone must've unloaded their NES collection to the game store and I pulled out six from the bunch and mom got them for me as a Christmas present.

All fairly solid titles if you ask me. Well except maybe Bayou Billy which is darn near impossible to get through, and Milon's Secret Castle is pretty cryptic, but hey I like em so leave me alone !

We did a secret santa at work and I ended up getting a nice little blanket, a bag of Doritos, a mini stocking with cat toys for my cat Milo, and a Domino's gift card.

Christmas dinner or rather lunch was some good ol' Church's Chicken. Purchased at the still fairly new Church's chicken at the Road Ranger truck stop off the freeway in town.
That's supposed to be a drawing of a chicken strip, hey I never claimed to be Picasso !

Not much else happened but overall it wasn't a bad day for me. Still can't get past that first boss in Milon's Secret Castle though...

Comic Con 2024

Went to the Beaumont Comic Con again this year for the third time in a row, and once again for the third time in a row I had a great time there.

There was a lot of the same stuff that was there before but there was a few different things. The guy that sold me Croc last year was there again. The guy that runs a neat little comic book store in Beaumont I go too once in a blue moon was there again too.

There were a couple of booths offering a sort of shooting gallery game, one with Nerf guns the other with a sort of Nerf crossbow thing. Don't know how I managed it but I managed to be somewhat decent at the Nerf gun game. I'm not usually one to have skills with that sort of thing lol. Even got a picture with the girl running the booth.

Now whats the real reason I was there ? Well to buy old comic books based on ancient cartoons of course ! Got my hands on six different comic books this year
A couple of Hanna-Barbera classics ! The Jetsons was a huge part of my childhood, watched quite a bit as a youngster. Funnily enough I had gotten the Top Cat blu-ray set just several days before I got that comic.
Two cartoon classics. A Bob Clampett cartooooonnn, and good ol' Mighty Mouse !
Here's two other shows I definitely saw a lot as a kid but now in comic form ! Could you tell I grew up on a lot of reruns ?

Overall it was a pretty good day and I'm glad to have added a few more comics to my collection.
They may be old fashioned but hey you would be too if you were based off a 60 plus year old cartoon.

Thanksgiving Day 2025

You wanna know how my Turkey Day went refer to the picture above. Just work and sitting at home nothing special, but not a bad day at all....
