Pick Ups and Fun Volume 2

 William's off work again, you know what that means !

GETTING OUT OF THE HOUSE AND BUYING THINGS HE DOESN'T NEED !

Friday the sixth day of the week and the day set aside by myself to go out on the town and purchase various items for amusement and fun. This week was no different. I got started by driving all the way towards the second local Game X Change location. My first stop however was not the game store but a Goodwill store just down the road from it. I bought nothing there. I usually don't find much at Goodwill's these days.

 I did find Jeffy's cat piano though !

My next stop was a Wendy's for lunch.

 Next up the Game X Change. After last weeks movie escapade I had movies on the mind, (Game X Change also sells movies.) I ended up getting three blu-rays of some movies.

I originally only had two of these but then the guy behind the counter informed me of the store's buy two get one free deal on blu-rays so I grabbed the Austin Powers movie as a bonus. Don't think I didn't buy any games while I was there either !

Next up the other Game X Change store, and believe or not for once I didn't actually buy anything in there. Worry not however as the mall would prove lucrative again for movies. I went in the 2nd and Charles store and picked up three movies.

 

The Simpsons Movie was an upgrade for my old DVD copy.

 

Finally I took a stop by Walmart and picked up the smash hit movie of July 2023, Barbie !

Yes I did watch and enjoy it lol.

That about sums up my day, all in all pretty good Friday if you ask me. now lets just see how long it takes me to get around to watching all of them. So be sure to stick around for another exciting round of junk junk and more junk possibly next Friday.

Why yes it was another Friday of shopping and fun. Things at first didn't turn out as I had planned them, fell asleep and didn't wake up til after I usually leave to go out. I ended up changing my plans because of it. However this change in plans actually turned out pretty good for me. Got my start by going to Game X Change, the game store that I visit pretty frequently. Didn't see too much at first but upon digging through their little stash of Game Boy games I found a few games that tickled my fancy.

After my game store hi-jinx I ate some lunch at Wing Stop. Nothing much to stay other than I had some nice wings.

Then I ventured over to the mall, because yes I'm one of those people that still likes going to the mall. Went into two stores while I was there, 2nd and Charles and a Suncoast. Ended up with a few movies ! Most of them were "upgrades" basically replacing an old DVD copy of a movie I have with the superior HD blu-ray version.

That The Fly collection being the exception.

After buying all that I went home. Later that night I watched Christine all the way through and dinked around with the others to some degree. Overall a pretty nice haul if I do say so myself. Especially considering it wasn't even my original intentions.

Christmas 2023 !

This post is just gonna be a look at how my Christmas went this year and I gotta say this year went a lot better than last year.

I was so much more in the Christmas spirit this year and determined to make this Christmas a lot more holly and jolly. To sum up Christmas of 2022 "disappointment." To be fair though most of it was because of me whining about how things were different and it was as big and bold as the holiday used to be for me as a kid. This year however I went into it with a much more positive outlook which helped tremendously. Late in November I did a little decorating and me and my mother went out and bought a small tree to put on the dinner table.

Even my mom got in the spirit with decorating ! Putting some stuff on the coffee table. It may not seem like much but it definitely fits in with the more low-key Christmas we had this year.

Something I've discovered over the past few years since I've gotten jobs and get paid is the joy of buying others Christmas gifts. I genuinely really enjoy it, got gifts mostly for family but a few other friends and co-workers. As has become tradition for me I made homemade cards for people too to go with the gifts. Not only does it save money but it's fun ! Of course a homemade card is much more genuine too.

I got a few gifts myself. My mom got me a couple of Switch games that were on sale on black Friday.

Sonic Superstars and Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe, both pretty good games if you ask me. Definitely prefer the Kirby game though. Besides being really cute and fun it's also pretty easy. Which is great for someone who sucks at video games like I do ! 

Got a gift card and a neat little Sour Patch Kids cup thing from a friend of mine that I work with. She didn't have to but she did anyways ! My grandmother also gave me some money which she definitely didn't need or have to do.

I have to say Christmas Eve was quite the rainy day. It was pretty interesting watching the parking lot at Church slowly turn into a lake before services started that day. The rain wasn't too much of a hindrance though we had a pretty good turnout all things considered. After church me and mom partook in some Casa Ole for lunch then made a quick stop by Popeye's to grab some chicken for the Christmas Day dinner.

That Monday on Christmas me and mom went over to Grandma's house and had the Popeye's in question alongside my Uncle. I even brought along some biscuits and gravy to go with the chicken. Pretty good meal if you ask me, not that anyone is. Spent some time over there I handed out my gifts and eventually we went home. After getting home me and mom watched Home Alone.

Don't think I need to explain Home Alone, I'm sure all like zero of you reading this have watched it.

All in all it was a pretty good Christmas this year, a little low-key but really nice.
